Building a great beauty team

I’ve been a Beauty Retail Manager for a few years now, and one of the biggest challenges is creating a team that excels in both product knowledge and customer service. It makes such a difference when every team member can genuinely connect with customers and make recommendations that truly fit their needs. How do you all foster that kind of expertise in your teams?

‌‍‍‍‌‌‍‍‍‍‍‍‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‍‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‍‌‌‍‌‍‍‌‌‍‌‌‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‌‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‍‍‌‌‍‍‍‍‍‍‌‍‍‌‌‍‌‍‍‍‍‍‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‍‍‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‌‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‌‌‌‍‌‌‍‌‌‍‌‌‍‌‌‌‍‌‍‌‌‌‍‌‌‍‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‍‌‌

Building connections is key. I found that regular role-playing sessions help team members practice their recommendations in real scenarios, which boosts their confidence. Have you tried that approach or something similar?

‌‍‍‍‌‌‍‍‍‍‍‍‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‍‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‍‌‌‍‌‍‍‌‌‍‌‌‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‌‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‌‍‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‍‌‍‍‍‍‍‌‍‍‌‌‍‌‍‍‍‍‌‌‍‌‍‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‍‍‍‌‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‌‌‍‍‌‍‍‌‍‍‌‌‌‌‍‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‍‌‍‍‌‌‍‍‌‌‍‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‍‍‌‌

I think pairing up team members for product demos can really enhance their confidence and synergy! Have you tried that approach?

‌‍‍‍‌‌‍‍‍‍‍‍‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‍‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‍‌‌‍‌‍‍‌‌‍‌‌‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‌‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‌‍‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‍‌‍‍‍‍‍‌‍‍‌‌‍‌‍‍‍‍‌‌‍‌‍‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‌‍‌‌‍‍‍‍‍‍‌‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‍‍‌‌‍‍‍‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‍‌‌

, I totally get that! One thing that’s worked for me is organizing monthly workshops where we dive deep into product knowledge, including hands-on training with new releases. It gives everyone a chance to share their tips too, which really helps with connecting on a personal level. Have you thought about implementing something similar?
